Jeanna Hondel is the President and CEO of Ascension Construction Solutions, a construction management firm she founded with a visionary approach that extends beyond structures and roadways the company builds. She is dedicated to crafting a familial culture within the organization, where every team member is valued and empowered to contribute their best.

Don Berger provides strategic leadership marked by his ability to see the bigger picture to the Construction Management at Risk Department. His extensive expertise spans various construction types, enabling him to offer a unique and well-rounded perspective to every project team. Known for his problem-solving acumen, Don approaches challenges with the mindset that there are no problems, only opportunities.

Kevin Bakalar is a dynamic leader, where he heads the Construction Management Agency Department. Over his career, Kevin has honed his expertise in municipal construction, utilities, and recreation projects. Our Story

In the heart of Columbus, Ohio, Ascension Construction Solutions (ACS) was founded in October 2017, by Jeanna Hondel, PE, CCM, MBA, LEED AP, a visionary leader whose passion for the construction industry has been instrumental in shaping the company's culture, mission and values. From its inception, ACS was built on the collective expertise, dedication, and unwavering commitment of its team—a group of skilled professionals who share a passion for exceeding expectations and delivering exceptional results.

The ACS team, with its deep understanding of the complexities of the construction process, has been the driving force behind the company's success. They possess a wide range of expertise across services such as construction management, scheduling, estimation, document controls, project management, construction administration, quality assurance, and constructability reviews. Their dedication to teamwork, respect, and accountability has been the cornerstone of every project, ensuring that each one is executed with precision and attention to detail.

The company’s first major project was with the City of Columbus Department of Finance and Management, where ACS provided critical inspection services for the emergency repair of a fire station. This success was soon followed by a partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation for nighttime inspection services, allowing the team to continue building relationships and laying the groundwork for future growth.

As ACS continued to establish itself, the team’s reputation for quality and reliability opened doors to new opportunities. One significant milestone was securing a prime contract with the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department for construction administration and inspection. ACS quickly grew and hired its first two full-time team members for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority’s Consolidated Rental Car Facility—a project that also sparked a lasting relationship with Turner Construction.

The ACS team’s commitment to excellence quickly earned the trust of clients and partners alike. Their ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality has been recognized across various industries, including healthcare, education, mission-critical construction, municipal infrastructure, utilities, and transportation.
